The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.
In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Well-Rounded Collection
All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
