The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
