British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the sports world shared condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
