On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and data retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I believe what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I'm her? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to discover," she added.

The panel was advised that through emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my point."

Court proceedings
Kate and Gerry McCann testified to the court from using a security measure on Wednesday

The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in last December.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the trip to Rothley, that area, in that winter.

The court was told correspondence between the two accused, in last November, discussing trying to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their house, Mrs Spragg transmitted a message which said: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark resembling private investigators. I had hoped to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
